The Charcoal Blue Prime is a full-size 1911 in .45 ACP finished to heritage standards: full hand polish on the flats and rounds, charcoal bluing on the slide and frame, high polish nitre blue small parts, a flush-cut and crowned barrel, and American Holly grips.
Charcoal bluing takes several hours of hand polish preparation beyond a standard Prime. The metal parts are placed in a gas-fired furnace with a recipe that includes animal bone and sperm whale oil, producing a mirror-like finish that is also hard-wearing. The nitre blue thumb safety and slide stop complement it.
The Prime is the archetype of a full-size 1911 - everything you need and nothing you don't.
